On the 20th commemoration of the Battle of Fallujah, we reflect upon and pay tribute to the indomitable valor and selflessness exhibited by the Marines who valiantly engaged. This pivotal conflict unfolded on November 8, 2004, standing as a defining moment within the Iraq War—a poignant testament to human courage and the fiercest urban warfare in contemporary annals. Amidst the urban landscape of Fallujah in western Iraq, coalition forces, led by the United States, squared off against resolute Iraqi insurgents. The conflagration raged persistently for months, exacting a heavy toll in lives lost among military personnel and civilians alike, while forcing multitudes to abandon their homes. The enduring reverberations of the Battle of Fallujah charted an altered trajectory for the Iraq War and endure as a monumental cornerstone in the tapestry of modern military chronicles.
